I love it when a birthday party takes my breath away! That’s the amazing thing about children’s parties – you can see so many (and I do in my line of work), but they can still make me gasp and make my heart flutter. That’s certainly what happened when I saw these gorgeous photos from Yuna’s first birthday party beautifully shot by Little J Photography and conceptualized and styled by the Passion Cooks and the wonderful Kathleen of Spark + Twinkle.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Maja of Passion Cooks for the magazine and she is just the loveliest person. Plus I love Passion Cooks! Their company mission and aesthetic are very close to my heart, so it’s no wonder I fawned all over the stunning first birthday Maja put together for her precious baby girl. The overall theme was Revisiting Retro and the party team transformed the beautiful Mango Farm into two retro areas – a retro kitchen and a retro diner complete with “drive-in” movie!
Since I was so blown away by the photos I decided to separate the feature to truly highlight each setup. For part one, we’re sharing the absolutely gorgeous retro diner and drive-in Maja created for Yuna and her guests. Every single detail flows beautifully into one another and you really feel like you stepped into a time machine and went back to the ’50s with soda shops, milkshakes, and more.
My favorites from this set include the playful use of colors – aqua, red, and yellow really bring the theme to life, the adorable retro details, and the delicious treats served by friendly diner waiters in the style of vintage cigar girls. Everything was perfectly executed. Congratulations Maja on a stunning party (and I’ve heard you’ve executed another gorgeous theme for Yuna’s second birthday! Can’t wait to see!) and to the team who created this amazing event! Prepare for some gorgeous photos! Part two coming soon!
I love how even the chairs matched the outdoor retro diner vibe!
I love these details all put together, vintage condiments, coke bottles, pinwheels, and checkered runners.
How cute are these treats?
A Little Rascals movie showing perfectly complemented the vintage theme!
All in all, a gorgeous event prepared with so much love! Happy birthday, Yuna!
