I love holidays! Maybe it’s because there is a fun festive feeling or the fact that I know a celebration is near! Whatever the reason I really enjoy it when a holiday is coming up. This February as we celebrate the month of hearts I thought it might be nice to put together a simple Valentine’s Day card crafting activity for the kids. It would be a fun way to create some homemade Valentine’s (which the kids can give out at school) and a nice excuse to spend some time together with art materials (my favorite things!). So I called over some of Bella’s BFFs and they spent the afternoon creating some cute Valentine’s Day goodies.
I wanted the crafts to be pretty but easy enough for the kids to make, so to help them get started we pre-cut and prepared templates that they could just glue together or decorate with paint, crayons, and pencils. I was excited putting together some Valentine’s Day card ideas because I remembered when I was in grade school we would all give our classmates Valentine’s. I’m looking forward to making some for Bella’s classmates this year too.
I prepared everything in advance and laid it all out for the kids. I had some extra pink striped plates from Party Starters that I had used for the blog launch and they were perfect to hold all the elements each child would need.
Do you want to create some of the Valentine’s we made? Here are some of the templates I created you can download by clicking on the image below. Gold coin chocolates fit perfectly into the circles while the cereal box tops fit any mini cereal box. You can use the greeting circles for anything – from chocolates to sweets to cards! Happy Hearts Day!
